Found this perfectly preserved piece of Edmonton blues history quite by accident last week in a neglected storage box. Seems appropriate as, after 22 festivals in 24 years (damn Covid!), we must leave the cozy confines of the Heritage Amphitheatre as the city attends to upgrades and maintenance. The good news is that we have found a new home, RE/MAX Field, also in the river valley. It usually plays host to the Riverhawks Ball Club, but August 25-27 next summer it will be home to the 24th Edmonton Blues Festival. Look at that lineup from 1999… not bad for first time out of the gate! Happy to say that some of the performers from our first will help christen our new home! All will be revealed in the first week of December.
